Sing the song “what’s the date today?”, ask Ss to substitute the dates in the song with other dates

Have Ss look at pictures and say the dates aloud
Set the scene: “you are going to listen to the recording about 4 people talking about someone’s birthday and number the correct pictures.
1st:Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books
2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and number the correct pictures.
Choose one or two Ss to share their answers with their classmates.
3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers.
Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction
-call some ss give the key (1B, 2D,3A, 4C)
- Compare with their partner.

.Let’s chant(10’)

Tell Ss that they are going to say the chant.
- Have Ss read the chant and check comprehension.
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions.
- Put the class into three groups to practise chanting and doing actions. Each of the groups should sing one verse of the song. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call three pairs to the front of the class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class clap along the rhythm.
